TITLE I

"Supporting Education by Nurturing Tomorrow"

Dear Teachers, Parents, Guardians and Community Stakeholders:

Welcome to Grant High’s TITLE I webpage and allow me to introduce myself; I’m Maria Ortiz, appointed Title I Coordinator for 2010-11. Our office is located in the GHS Career Center and we're always available to assist you during school hours.

Officially, it is as follows:

  3. Organize and lead ongoing staff development for teachers, paraprofessionals, parents and volunteers.
  4. Respond to requests for information, develop training materials and provide professional development to staff and parent groups.
  5. Develop and maintain appropriate information systems related to electronic and paper files.
  6. Assist with the planning and organization of staff, parent, and community meetings.
  7. Prepare notices, documents and other communication related to English Learner programs.
NOW I’M REALLY CONFUSED - WHAT EXACTLY DO YOU DO,
MRS. ORTIZ?

I basically oversee the implementation of all aspects of the Title I program here at GHS and coordinate its related services so that staff, students and community members may access them. Some of the services/programs I take care of are:

And the list goes on! In a nutshell, come see me if you think I can supplement your educational program in any way; I’m always at your service.

One of the things I’d like to do differently is to make greater use of our website; I’ve therefore provided some documents below in PDF format that you may find useful. Of course, you can always visit the Title I office for hard copies if you prefer or don’t find what you need here.

Thank you so much for visiting our website; feel free to email any questions or suggestions you may have.

Best regards,

Maria Ortiz
