Dear Teachers, Parents, Guardians and Community Stakeholders:
Welcome to Grant High’s TITLE I webpage and allow me to introduce myself; I’m Marc-Vincent Jackson, appointed Title I Coordinator for 2009-10. Our office is located in the GHS Career Center and we're always available to assist you during school hours.
Officially, it is as follows:
• Supplemental Federal funding for improving student achievement, especially in high-poverty schools
• A program which provides extra academic support and learning opportunities for children farthest from

meeting challenging State standards
WHAT DOES THE TITLE I COORDINATOR DO?
Once again, officially, my duties and responsibilities are:
- Under the direction of the principal or designee, provides support and assistance to school site teachers in the implementation of the Title I Program.
- Facilitate school-wide accountability with federal, state, and District policies regarding all aspects
of the Title I Program in constructing and revising the program's content skills, teaching methods and evaluation.
- Organize and lead ongoing staff development for teachers, paraprofessionals, parents and volunteers.
- Respond to requests for information, develop training materials and provide professional development to staff and parent groups.
- Develop and maintain appropriate information systems related to electronic and paper files.
- Assist with the planning and organization of staff, parent, and community meetings.
- Prepare notices, documents and other communication related to English Learner programs.
NOW I’M REALLY CONFUSED - WHAT EXACTLY DO YOU DO,
MR. JACKSON?
I basically oversee the implementation of all aspects of the
Title I program here at GHS and coordinate its related services so that staff, students and community members may access them. Some of the services/programs I take care of are:
